- On 25 November Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam will open the exhibition 'Foam Talent 2014', in partnership with East Wing, a new platform for photography, founded in Doha. The exhibition will showcase a collection of international cutting edge photographic talent to the Gulf Region, selected by our annual 'Talent Call'. An exclusive master class held in East Wing's gallery space in Dubai will accompany the exhibition. The master class provides a rare opportunity for twelve photographers to gain insight and experience from three successful professionals working in the field.

Foam’s annual Talent Call is one of the international photographic industry’s most prestigious instruments to scout and present young merging artists. The Talent Call with its accompanying presentation in Foam Magazine and touring exhibition provides a unique career building platform, helping to launch aspiring talents to an important next step in their photographic career. The Foam Talent label gives these photographers international acclaim and recognition. This year, out of the 1,473 submissions from 71 different countries that were submitted, 21 artists were selected.
The Foam talents for 2014 are: Christto & Andrew (QA), Charles-Henry Bédué (FR), Andrey Bogush (RU/FI), Jonny Briggs (UK), Daniel Everett (US), Lucas Foglia (US), Julien Gremaud (CH), Eva O’Leary and Harry Griffin (US), Jing Huang (CN), Otto Kaan (NL), Sasha Kurmaz (UA), Catharine Maloney (US), Yoshinori Mizutani (JP), Nerhol (JP), Alice Quaresma (BR), Émilie Régnier (CA), Jan Rosseel (BE), Jennifer Niederhauser Schlup (CH), Sarah Ancelle Schönfeld (DE), Lukas Wassmann (CH), Hannah Whitaker (US).
The exhibitions of Foam Talent 2014 at East Wing in Dubai showcases a selection of the young accomplished winners, including Qatar based duo, Christto & Andrew. Their images from the series ‘Liquid Portraits’, was showcased on the cover of Foam Magazine’s Talent 2014 Issue in September.
The exhibition opens at East Wing, located in Limestone House at the Dubai International Financial Centre on Tuesday, 25 November 2014 with a reception from 7.00 – 9.30 (R.S.V.P to email@example.com) and is on show until 10 January 2015.
The two-day master class will commence on Wednesday, 26 November 2014. Foam and East Wing have invited three masters from London, Amsterdam and Doha who will work closely with the accepted participants, furnishing them with a rare opportunity to gain knowledge from these working experts and extend their professional network.
The masters will include; Emma Bowkett, Photography Director of the award winning FT Magazine in London and internationally acclaimed photographers, Raimond Wouda, who also teaches at the Royal Academy of Arts in the Hague and George Awde, Assistant Professor of Photography at Virgina Commonwealth University in Doha, Qatar also Co-Director of marra.tein, a residency and research initiative in Beirut.
In the two-day master class the participants will not only get an overview of the professional life and work of the three masters, they will also have the opportunity to present their own photographs for critique and guidance, receiving valuable advice and potential strategies on how to develop their artistic practice.
Foam exhibits all genres of photography: fine art, documentary, applied, historical and contemporary. It is more than a museum: it is a creative hub where photographers from all over the world can meet and participate, online and offline. The scouting and presentation of young photography talent is an essential part of the many activities organised by Foam.
